SunJams Productions
Working to Brighten the Future of Music Education
Our Mission
SunJams Productions is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring the healing power of music to our community. With donations from our live music performances, we fund music education in our schools. We believe that music is one of the most effective means of helping kids develop positive connections to each other, to themselves, and to their communities. Our live music events bolster the local community and help fundraise for our cause.
We are a 501c3 foundation. (EIN) / TAX ID 47-4435137.

Our Jams
Making traditional Lebanese apricot jam, or Murabba el Meshmosh, relies on sun curing and an overnight sugar maceration to bring out the bright, sweet flavor of the fruit. Sun curing is the hallmark of traditional Middle Eastern jam making. Our apricot jam recipe requires just three ingredients: ripe apricots, sugar, and fresh lemon juice, all cooked slowly, then baked in the sun to perfection.
Each year, when jam season commences, we here at SunJams gather as much as 200 pounds of organic apricots from our local trees. We prepare them just as our grandmother did, and we cook the mixture until it’s just right. Then, for three days, we let them bake under the sun here in our own backyard. The entire process takes about a week per batch, and we typically produce 3-6. batches Every single batch is unique, reflecting the flavor of the individual fruits and the sweet effect of slow baking in the sun.
We sell our jams at local fairs and our music events, and 100% of the proceeds go toward funding live music events and youth education programs.
