Drumming Circle - Beginners Welcome (18+)
Time & Location
About the event
Drumming circle participation helps build community, promotes many health benefits for body and mind, reduces stress responses and improves immune function.
This will be a small group activity. We will practice safe distancing for the safety of all participants, and please feel free to use a mask for your own comfort. All attendees are expected to have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
No prior drumming experience is needed. If you have a favorite drum or other percussion tool, please bring it. The activity will include call and response, basic counting, and is open to adults of any age.
Our drumming circle leader is Farahnaz Mazandarani, RN, PHN. She has been facilitating small group drumming for over 15 years and has worked in health care and rehabilitation. Farahnaz uses drumming as a complement to her holistic approach to health and wellness. In 2019, she led drumming circles for students at Miramonte High School here in Orinda.
Farahnaz is the founder of Project Joy And Health, a consulting service for individuals and organizations that is focused on integrating healthy practices into everyday life. You can reach Farahnaz at 415-683-7524, or email email@example.com.
We will provide shade and a safe environment, and the group size is limited due to social distancing regulations. We recommend that you bring your own water bottle and wear comfortable shoes; the space is a roughly finished backyard and the ground is uneven.
